Measuring the Real Water Use of Commerce
This isn't Atheist related, but its pretty amazing. The New York Times featured it in Observatory on the 20th of April. It is currently set-up for non-commercial use, and is targeted for industry, but I would recommend fiddling around with it. It has been created by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and you can find it here. Its pretty compelling stuff, and while you may not see how this relates to nonbelief, this is something I do believe in.
“This tool should allow people to understand the implications of water use.”
Rather than focusing on the negative of religion, we'll be using the news section to report on anything relevant to the real world. I think this is a pretty intereting tool in possibly giving consumers the ability to way their water use, both directly and indirectly, in the consumption of everyday goods. If you do happen to run a business, this is an interesting way to start gauging how generating even mundane products can adversely effect water sources, both for the product itself and all the materials and elements that comprise it. Hope you enjoy.
